So ... explain RADAR

Battlefield Heroes is a cartoon-style action video game developed by DICE initially—now developed by Easy Studios—and published by EA for Microsoft Windows. The game is less demanding on computer specifications than the previous games of the Battlefield series.

So ... explain RADAR

Postby SpleenFeast » Thu Aug 07, 2014 3:16 pm

So explain how RADAR works, it links IP addresses or accounts based on login location or something?
Does that mean playing from the same location as a potential hacker would expose an account to a ban?

Example: Say I play from work, so there are lots of computers and users, but only one external IP getting logged. And say there's a hacker playing in another room and I get banned because the IP's are the same, is that right?

Isn't that open to abuse and a lot of false positives without any other evidence?

While I haven't seen any appeals that are 100% genuine and honest, it seems very unfair to punish an honest or innocent player if all they've done wrong is share a connection, house, computer or computer cafe where others are doing the wrong thing.

I don't just issue a ban without consideration for these things of course. Hence the German IP warning earlier this week.

Once you take into account the avaerage age of the players, the fact that it is a f2p game it is easy to work out who is legit and who isn't.

Yeah, just curious how it worked and if it worked the way I thought, if there was anything stopping it from being used to create false bans.

I don't doubt you aren't doing an awesome job anyway Ruci ::like::

Most players can probably get their brother banned due to the same ip. However, if you hack, the chances are that you've shown it to your brother and he now hacks too. I have a big brother and I know what would have happened if he was a hacker.
